The Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Trams are a South Australian icon
and have been serving visitors to Granite Island and Victor Harbor since 1894.

Today, an experience aboard the tramway enables visitors to capture the efforts of one gentle Clydesdale Horse that powers the transportation of visitors in a heritage double-decker tram across the 630 metre wooden Causeway to Granite Island. The Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram uses 14 Clydesdale Horses on a rotational basis with the trams accommodating approximately 50 passengers. Each horse works only two shifts a week with the trams running on roller bearings, to make it easy work for them.

It's iconic image and unsurpassed service to approximately 180,000 visitors to Victor Harbor each year provides a memorable journey for people of all backgrounds and establishes a fond memory of the Fleurieu Peninsula region for all age groups. Tickets for the Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram can be purchased at the Victor Harbor Visitor Information Centre or from the friendly conductors on the tram.

The Victor Harbor Horse Drawn Tram is situated at the start of the Causeway next to the Victor Harbor Visitor Information Centre opposite Warland Reserve.
Operating 7 days a week and departing the Victor Harbor terminal every 20 minutes, the daily service is the only all year operation of its kind in the world and the only recognised horse drawn tram service in the Southern Hemisphere operating on a continual basis.
